global learning outreach goes open source
@ glo we surf the web for links about culture, technology and education and share them. we also provide teachers with community tools for their classrooms.global learning outreach (glo for short) is a consortium of educators and students from around the world participating in global learning in its wide array of manifestations. Using the web as a networking resource, glo promotes the use and development of web technologies in the classroom as a mean of linking students, teachers and scholars through virtual space. Taking advantage of the breadth of support for international, global and regional studies throughout the California academic community, glo has helped develop and encourage a new set of connections between academia and K-12 teachers and students. Supporting institutions include UCLA, USC, Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles County Office of Education, Los Angeles Unified School District, Long Beach Unified School District, among other partners.
